ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ full-time faculty and staff may take advantage of this exclusive CAPE tuition discount. You must be a benefits-eligible ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ employee on the date of registration and on the first day of class.

When your application has been approved, you will receive an email from CAPE Advising Specialists with further information about how to enroll in your selected program at a 50% discount.

Discount only applicable on selected ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ CAPE Certificates and courses. Exclusions apply. Cannot be applied to previous registrations.

You can register using your personal credit card. If you will use professional development funds from your department or division, please contact CAPE  at programs@smu.edu prior to enrolling to discuss the payment process.

You are responsible for any course fees related to your class, including textbooks, materials, software, or equipment, and they will not be discounted.

The 50% tuition discount for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ employees is taxable. However, employees enrolled in a taxable CAPE program are eligible for an annual IRS exclusion for the first $5,250 of tuition benefits or discounts each calendar year. If you have questions about taxable limits or tuition benefits for other ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ programs, please contact tuitionbenefits@smu.edu.

Enrollment is open to ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ employees on a space-available basis, and priority will be given to accommodate regular CAPE students.

CAPE courses usually take place outside of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s administrative and general office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Please talk with your supervisor prior to enrolling regarding any impact to your work schedule.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ employees who enroll in CAPE courses are expected to fulfill all requirements in order to receive program completion credentials.
