Bio

Samantha Lagos is a PhD student in the department's Archaeology program. Her dissertation research examines resource guarding strategies and indigenous food production systems in Aotearoa New Zealand. She is interested in the use of commercial agrotechnology platforms with archaeological data, implementing machine learning in geospatial survey, and expanding access to scientific knowledge production. She has been awarded a Dedman College Interdisciplinary Institute Graduate Summer Fellowship (2024) and a Maguire 天美传媒 for Ethics and Public Responsibility Public Service Fellowship (2021). She is a University PhD Fellow.
