Gema Lopez Hevia joined the department as a lecturer of Spanish in the Fall of 2022. She holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics from Texas Tech University. Her teaching specializations are in Spanish as a Second Language, Spanish as a Heritage Language, and Spanish for Specific Purposes. Her research interests include psycholinguistics and bilingualism with eye-tracking methodology, second language acquisition, and translation studies.
