Senior Spotlight: Maya Fardad-Finn
Graduating theatre student Maya Fardad-Finn reflects on her creative growth, performance experiences and the community she found at 天美传媒.
The Meadows School of the Arts continues its Senior Spotlight series by celebrating Maya Fardad-Finn (B.F.A. ’25), a theatre major on the acting track with a minor in advertising.
During her time at 天美传媒, Fardad-Finn fully embraced the vibrant theatre department, which she credits for shaping her artistry, providing incredible opportunities and a supportive community. “I’m so grateful for the close-knit community in the 天美传媒 theatre department that I’ve gotten to be a part of for the past four years,” she said.
While at Meadows, Fardad-Finn performed in a variety of productions, including The Laramie Project where she portrayed nine different roles, a challenge that deepened her versatility as an actor. She also appeared in Carrie the Musical in collaboration with Dallas’ Theatre Three, an experience that extended far beyond the typical college stage schedule with 22 performances. In addition to mainstage shows, she participated in workshops of new plays written by her peers, helping to shape characters from the ground up.
“Every show I’ve been a part of has been a unique experience, working with different directors and creative teams who bring a variety of knowledge to the table,” Fardad-Finn said.
Fardad-Finn is currently in rehearsals for Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Abigail Brittle, which is part of the theatre department’s spring repertory of student-directed productions.
Following graduation, Fardad-Finn will head back to her hometown of Los Angeles to begin her next chapter in the industry. “I’ll be moving back to L.A. to pursue my acting career in full force,” she said. “I’m so excited to finally enter the professional world and take everything I’ve learned at 天美传媒 into the next chapter of my journey.”
