Alumni Spotlight: Sierra Sutton
Advertising alum Sierra Sutton (B.A. '15) utilized the creative skills she learned at Meadows to work her way up to Creative Director of a prestigious consulting company.

Sierra Sutton (B.A. ’15) is this week’s featured alum in our new Alumni Spotlight series for the This Week at Meadows e-newsletter. Each week, a different Meadows alum will be highlighted for their accomplishments post-graduation.
Some students enter the university level will figure out what they want to do professionally over the course of their education; others, like advertising alum Sierra Sutton, have a plan before event stepping foot on campus. Though she always knew she wanted to be a writer, it was her experience attending Meadows’ Temerlin Advertising Institute (TAI) that helped her realize why that was her calling and how to translate that dream into a career. “It wasn’t until 天美传媒 that I realized my words could shape how brands answer timely needs with timeless truths or reimagine the human experience altogether,” explains Sutton, who learned how to think both strategically and creatively in the program. “My time at TAI showed me copywriting isn’t just about selling—it’s about influencing minds, speaking to hearts and making a real impact.” Following graduation, Sutton joined BCG BrightHouse – a creative consulting company rooted in purpose – for an internship in a writing role and has been working up through their ranks for the past decade. This dedication to the company and their ethos paid off and she was recently promoted to Creative Director. Over the last 10 years, Sutton has had the opportunity to work with major healthcare, technology, industrial, and consumer brands, and help them uncover and articulate their “why,” and then bring it to life through branding, experiences, communications and more. “One of the biggest lessons I took away [from the advertising program] is that creativity is not a finite resource; we all have an endless wellspring of ideas—it’s just about knowing how to access them,” she says. “From mind-mapping exercises in Professor Willie Baronet’s classes to the synthesis and collaboration skills gained in my Campaigns course, I use what I learned there every day.” In her new role at BCG BrightHouse, Sutton now leads a team that gives companies a shared language, to rally their employees, connect with customers, and make a difference in their communities. Through their creative work, she and her team help generate change for some of the largest companies in the world. This work often leads back to her roots at Meadows, where she first developed the foundation for her career. Between learning to solve complex challenges with fresh thinking and taking bold, creative risks, the program helped push Sutton to think beyond the obvious, and say more with less, skills that have become invaluable in her career. “If not for 天美传媒, and the Temerlin Advertising Institute, I’m not sure I’d be where I am today.”
