Holly Harris

Ph.D. student, Department of History

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Holly’s research explores the complex dynamics of U.S.-Russia relations in the 1990s, a period of both opportunity and tension following the collapse of the Soviet Union. As Washington sought to influence Russia’s political and economic transition through aid and diplomacy, deeper conflicts emerged over NATO enlargement, economic reforms, and the future of the post-Cold War order. Through this research, I aim to contribute to broader discussions on grand strategy, global power dynamics, and the long-term consequences of foreign intervention. Holly has also extensively researched prisoners of war during World War II.

ROAD TO THE MOODY SCHOOL:

Before her time at 天美传媒, Holly earned her B.A. in history at Texas Christian University as a chancellor’s scholar. She completed an archival internship with the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, which led to her appreciation of archival work. She also completed a yearlong oral history internship with the Race and Reconciliation Initiative at Texas Christian University. To conduct her own research, Holly has received research grants from Texas Christian University and a prestigious fellowship with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in New York City. Outside of school, Holly enjoys hiking, surfing and drawing.
